When did you join ClickUp: July 2022
Why did you join ClickUp?
In my past role as VP at TruckX, we used multiple project management and documentation tools like Trello, Jira, and Confluence. One day we came across ClickUp, and everything was simplified after moving to ClickUp. We loved having all of our work in one platform, and it had a great set of features with better pricing for our startup.
I loved using ClickUp for project management, and it made a great impression on me, which was one of the main reasons for working here. I liked the ClickUp features and was surprised by the new features every week. I love working at companies with great products and real customer impact, which is the case with ClickUp.
What do you do at ClickUp?
I lead the collaboration organization at ClickUp, which encompasses multiple teams, including Docs, Whiteboards, and notifications.
Tell us what a typical day looks like for you.
The first question I ask daily is, “What’s changed since yesterday?” ClickUp is moving very fast, and the platform iterates every day. So I need to know what’s different because that will impact all of our teams — and then I ensure that we’re aligned and that all of our projects are on track.
I have meetings with my teams to understand what we can ship and the timelines. How can we divide a bigger project into smaller milestones, and do we have a plan to achieve those milestones? Do we need additional resources? I’m always thinking about short-term and long-term goals.
How would you describe the culture at ClickUp? What makes it different from other jobs you’ve had?
ClickUp is very customer-focused and obsessed with giving our customers the best user experience possible.
Because of this, we’re also very fast-paced. We want to ship very complex features quickly, so everyone here is very agile. We have a very smart engineering team focused on building the best products for our customers. I love ClickUp’s culture and enjoy it every day.
What do you like best about your job?
I like complex problems, fast-paced environments, and working with the smartest people. Thinking about scalability and accuracy — a big focus for us right now — is also an exciting challenge.
I like mentorship, and at ClickUp, I’ve been able to coach people, teach them to ask the right questions, and ensure that they’re thinking strategically. That’s always very fulfilling for me.
What’s your favorite thing about the engineering team?
They’re very passionate, innovative, and ready to learn. They want to solve customer problems, and I’m inspired by their curiosity and willingness to tackle complex and challenging problems.
What qualities do you think a successful ClickUp employee embodies?
You must be customer-centric and always think about delivering the best product. The second thing is being a good problem solver. You have to be able to get things done. There are a lot of unknowns, and a successful ClickUp employee has the willingness to try. You also have to be collaborative and enjoy learning new things.
