Social media platforms, especially appearance-centric ones such as Instagram, aren’t known for boosting the casual scroller’s self-image.
Unsurprisingly, being bombarded by statuesque influencers, filter-filled selfies, and pictures of your long-lost high school friends posing poolside in Playa del Carmen (What? Too specific?) does nothing to improve how you view yourself. In fact, a study by the Florida House Experience found that up to 50% of women and 37% of men compare their bodies unfavorably to images consumed on social and traditional media.
Short of deleting social media altogether and risk exiling yourself from your virtual social circles, the options for escaping the image-damaging fairytale world of influencers and endless summers seems, well, limited.
Limited, maybe, but not out of the question. Communities focused on encouraging body positivity and mental health have long existed on the periphery of social media, and increasingly, they’re stealing the spotlight.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Christine Larainee, who is devoted to spreading body acceptance and self-love. We discussed how she uses social media to leverage her message, and how using ClickUp helps Christine keep up with her inspiration and stay organized.

Tell us a little about yourself and your personal brand!
My name is Christine and I started my Instagram Platform about two years ago. It’s devoted to body acceptance, self-love, and recently, mental health. I am a dedicated and energetic body-acceptance activist who believes all bodies deserve to be celebrated and represented in the world we live in.
My past experiences as a high-level varsity athlete, and the years of body shame I have encountered along the way, has fueled my passion to advocate for the younger generations that follow in my footsteps.
In particular, I fight for young women who have been taught to believe that their worth is heavily dependent on the way they look and behave in society. I also advocate for mental health, recently coming to acceptance with past traumas that have fueled my anxiety and depression.
It sounds like you’re getting your inspiring message out there primarily via social media. What ClickUp feature helps you most with this?
I love ClickUp because of how easy it is to use!
As a content creator, it’s super important for me to be consistently active on my platforms, which means staying super organized and having lots of ideas always lined up. With that in mind, I’d say my favorite feature is the Custom Fields ClickApp, which lets me customize my tasks and visualize them in Calendar view. These are really key to my organization methods.
While working a full-time job, I had set a goal for myself to post to Instagram 3 times per week as well as publish 2 reels and 2 Tik Toks. I could have not been more overwhelmed!
Luckily, I found ClickUp and was instantly put at ease. I was able to plan my content schedule a month in advance, as well as write down all my caption ideas on the go. When I came back to officially produce the post, all my notes and ideas were already all in ClickUp.
This made me increasingly efficient at multi-tasking and knowing exactly what I needed to get done each week.
I also love being able to keep everything so organized and visually appealing. I am a huge fan of the different fields you can add to each task to easily see your to-do list in the Calendar view. This helps me remember which platform I am working on and makes the Calendar look very appealing.
ClickUp is an amazing resource because I love to get everything out of my head and into a system that keeps up with me and my ideas!
Do you integrate any other tools or platforms with ClickUp?
I can’t say it’s a formal integration or anything, but I really like how ClickUp facilitates my ability to quickly post to social media platforms, especially Instagram. ClickUp acts as my content “library” for all my posts and ideas.
For example, I will often write my Instagram Captions directly on ClickUp. That way, I never lose track of them and it’s super easy to post.
When trying to run a business through Instagram, having quick and efficient access to all my notes and captions is vital. I usually post about 6 times per week just on Instagram, so staying organized is a must!
How do you use ClickUp to push your projects forward?
I use ClickUp to keep track of my workflows. From “To Be Started” to “Published,” I can track exactly what stage I am on when I am running multiple projects at once!
ClickUp also makes it easier to compartmentalize different projects, meaning I can keep track of which projects are waiting on approval from the brands I’m collaborating with.
About how many hours a week do you save using ClickUp?
I think I can say pretty confidently that I save about 10 hours a week using ClickUp.
And what do you do with that time back?
I have extra time to engage with my followers and take online courses to further my education in Entrepreneurship!
It also gives me more free time for my hobbies, so I get to hike and snowboard the Vancouver mountains more. 😄
How has ClickUp improved your work and life?
I struggle with severe anxiety, so I get very overwhelmed with clutter and having so many ideas in my head at once.
Being able to access ClickUp via mobile has allowed me to decrease my stress, as I often get caption ideas while I am out on the go. This way, I can quickly jot down all my ideas wherever I am, which has been so incredibly calming for me.
What advice do you have for others looking to streamline their productivity?
Create a Content Calendar! And write everything down!
Even the ideas that you think are silly or ridiculous, or not something you believe you could do, write it down. One day you will look back on these ideas and something will spark!
