ClickUp 2020: A Year in Review

WTF happened to 2020…

At this point, it’s almost better to just think of it as a glitch in the matrix — an unexplainable occurrence that you just want to brush under the rug.

And while it can be easy to focus on what didn’t go as planned, there were actually some incredible moments that happened this year. To name a few, we’ve compiled a list of our top 20 moments from 2020:

1. Raised $100M in our Series B

After raising a $35M Series A in June, we upheld our promise that our obsession with product, customer service, and vision will never change.

In addition to scaling exponentially, we were able to release brand-new native mobile apps, a Template Center, and Coaching Program.

We found that more resources allowed us to accomplish our mission even faster than we imagined — which is why in December, we raised our Series B to continue making the world more productive.

2. Hosted first-ever virtual conference: LevelUp

December was a busy month for ClickUp!

Aside from raising our Series B and launching some of our biggest features to date, 12,000+ attendees showed up and engaged with our team at LevelUp — our virtual productivity conference.

Highlights included learning how our development team uses ClickUp to ship super fast and getting the low-down on digital marketing in an MBA session with Dan Fleyshman and Neil Patel.

3. Published 227 ClickUp blogs

Our team of writers has been hard at work all year crafting content to inform you about anything and everything project management related.

4. Left our mark across the country

ClickUp journeyed from the digital world to make its debut across billboards, buses, airports, and even the iconic Times Square. You can find us in 11 cities across 8 states, with more to come in 2020.

5. Rated Zapier’s #1 growing app of 2020

Automations from Zapier customers (who are overwhelmingly small businesses) grew the most with ClickUp this year, as the need for remote collaboration reached an all-time high.

Luckily, we make it easy to connect with your team no matter where they’re located. 🌎

6. Captured quality pet content

Aside from some of the best humans on the planet, our team is also joined by some of the most incredible pets. Picking only a few pictures for this post was nearly impossible. We have a #pets-of-clickup channel in Slack and highly encourage all animal-loving Slack users to do the same.

7. Hosted 42 ClickUp webinars

From a beginner’s guide on getting thing’s done to training your team on how to use ClickUp, our webinar team hosted 42 live webinars on a plethora of different ClickUp use-cases. Looking to add a new topic to the list in 2021? Suggest a webinar here!

8. Released 48 weekly ClickUpdates

Our development team worked around the clock to add over 230 features and improvements to ClickUp this year. But we didn’t stop there! ClickUp also integrated with over 10 new platforms, including Discord, Miro, and Zoom, AND squashed over 2,400 bugs. 🐛

9. Saved the world 1,564,451 days

The mission of ClickUp is simple: save people time. We do that by making the world more productive! We’ve found that when used regularly, ClickUp saves people one day every week. This year alone there were…

10. Added 106 new team members

Our team grew 5x in 2020 across Customer Support, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and more (and we’re still hiring)! We’ve loved welcoming our growing team, including the five babies born, one wedding, and two engagements.

11. Worked remotely from 11 states + 3 countries

As our team went 100% remote, we ended up working from 14 states, 5 countries, and 27 cities. Thank goodness for video tools to keep us all connected. 💜

12. Taught 24 Lunch & Learns

One of our core values here at ClickUp is to grow 1% every day.

This means you’re always learning something new! Members from each of our different departments hosted virtual, 30-minute lessons to teach everyone at ClickUp something they specialize in — helping us all grow a little more.

13. Answered 396,904 tickets

Speaking of core values, our number one priority is to provide not only the best customer service in the industry but the best customer service experience you’ve ever had.

Our small but mighty team works 365 days to ensure that questions are answered in a timely manner. We look forward to providing instant, real-time 24/7 customer service in the coming year.

14. Awarded 36 Core Value Awards

This year, we started a program to reward members of our virtual team who exude our core values.

As Warren Buffet once said: “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” We celebrate the reality that the blood, sweat, and tears of our team sprouted this ClickUp tree, and we look forward to watching it become fully grown. 🌳

15. Received our first Proddy award 🥇

First held in 2018, the Proddys have quickly become established as the gold standard awards for the product management community, celebrating the best digital products selected by public vote.

Over 200 products were nominated, and ClickUp was selected as the best project management product!

16. Held 1,607 Zoom Meetings

This one was a little tricky as there were always a few last-minute that snuck in, but if we’re looking at the regularly scheduled meetings such as weekly all-hands and daily standups, we took the remote world by storm!

All-hands are where we get big updates from across the entire team and standups are where each department syncs to quickly review what’s on their plate for the day.

17. Donated $125K+ anonymously

Coming from a current employee, ClickUp has created an altruistic culture that supports our team in initiating random acts of kindness.

From small business loans on Kiva to wellness kits for people without homes, we’ve been honored to have had the chance to support those in need.

18. Sponsored 117 new teams

We love sponsoring teams who are out there changing the world for the better.

This year alone we sponsored 117 teams with free ClickUp accounts in order to organize their initiatives productively.

19. Partnered with 47 new teams

Our partnership program blossomed in its infancy this year as we were able to bring on 47 new teams. This year, we partnered with TV studios, academic programs, tech startups, nonprofits, and more!
